By creating a BuildDNA account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use BuildDNA. By using the app you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
You must be at least 13 years old to use BuildDNA. If you're between 13 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
BuildDNA is not intended for anyone under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a user under 13, we'll terminate it.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, notify us of any unauthorized access, and not create accounts for others without their consent or impersonate any person.
We may disable or delete accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these terms.
BuildDNA is meant to help you log and share your driving experiences safely. You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes, to comply with all applicable traffic laws, and to never interact with your phone while actively driving — use auto-drive detection rather than manually starting a recording while moving, and make sure your device is secured before you set off.
Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination, and may be referred to law enforcement where appropriate.
You own the photos, build logs, and drive data you upload. By posting content, you grant BuildDNA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote it within the app and on public garage pages, badges, and leaderboards, solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service.
Don't post content you don't have the rights to, or content that's illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content that violates these terms at our discretion, without notice.
BuildDNA is a drive-logging and social app, not a driving aid. Never interact with your phone while driving. Follow all local traffic laws and speed limits — recording a fast drive is never worth putting yourself or others at risk, and BuildDNA does not encourage or condone unsafe or illegal driving.
Core features rely on background location access to automatically detect when a drive starts and ends. You can grant, adjust, or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings, though drive auto-detection and other location-dependent features won't work without it. Live location sharing with friends is a separate, opt-in feature that's off by default and controlled from Privacy settings.
BuildDNA lets you connect with friends, share drives and mods, and appear on leaderboards. Content you publish to the feed is visible to your friends or, depending on your settings, to all users. Leaderboard rankings are computed from your recorded drive data, and you can control who sees your profile and drives from Privacy settings.
We reserve the right to moderate, remove, or restrict content and accounts that violate community standards or these terms, including in response to reports from other users.
The BuildDNA name, logo, app design, and underlying software are our intellectual property or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to our trademarks or proprietary materials, and you may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the app without our written consent.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or pose a safety risk to other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — continue to apply after your account is closed.
BuildDNA is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. GPS-derived stats like speed and distance are estimates and may not be perfectly accurate due to signal conditions. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. BuildDNA is a supplementary driving companion, not a safety device, and should never be relied on in an emergency.
To the extent permitted by law, BuildDNA and its team aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including any driving-related incidents.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these terms or the app will not exceed the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions or limitations, in which case our liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these terms or the app is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
